Bush survival

Important methods to keep yourself safe in the wild.

S.T.O.P meaning
Stop and think were you are going to put your tent or shelter.

Think if this would keep you warm and dry for the night.

Observe your surrounding's.

Plan what you are going to do.

Clean Water.
If you are by water make sure it is clean before you drink it. And it could be posines so be careful because you could get sick.

How to start a fire.
You have to get stick's leaf's and rock's to put around in a circle and then you rub some stick's together and it would make some smoke and then it would make a fire. but you need to rub it fast.

Shelter.
Shelter's are used to keep you warm and dry for the night so you don' t get sick and cold.

1. Build it on solid dry ground.

2 . Do not build it by a river or a lake.

3. it would have to keep you warm and dry and protect you from rain and wind.

Basic first aid

1. Bring plasters if you get hurt.

2. Bring bandages and some sun cream so you don' t get sun burnt and get cancer.

Signal for help

bring a flare gun and maybe light a fire so people can see the smoke.

Shelter Building

This is the Shelter with my group we were thinking we should put it around the post or the chair.
The easiest thing was tieing the rope to the post and putting the tarpaulin over the rope. Yes we were helping each other and working as a team. The hardest part was agreeing what to do and were we should make it. and I will give this 5/5. And my team were very helpful and using resilience.

Tent reveiw

What was the hardest thing? Putting the tent together and put the poles through the little holes.
What worked well? working together and working as a team.

What did you learn? do not argue and help each other.

Tent plan

The tent we are aiming to make is a tarp and rope tent. To make this we are going to need two trees so that we can tie the rope to. Then we put a tarp over the top of the rope.
To make the next tarp and rope tent we are going to tie a rope around two trees so it makes a rope line then we are going to put a rope through the holes and tie that to the trees so it makes a triangle that we can fit under. We chose these tents because we thought that they were easy to make and that they had a nice shelter.

Chapter Chat

This was my Chapter Chat for this week I was doing the silver bullets and his run down shoes
the hardest part was making them. They were hard to make because it was hard looking at a picture.

NZ Bush badge/ Shelter

Image result for bush shelter cartoonThe best place to build a shelter is by a big tree were there is food and water. A shelter need's to protect you from bugs and insects so they can not bit you and give you lumps on your arm's or leg's . All the stuff you need to build a shelter is log's or stick's to make the base, and flax leafs to make the roof and more sticks to put on the leafs so the leafs will not blow away. You need to have some sort of rope or flax to tie everything together. You probably need some sort of light so you can see at night and some insect reaplent so the bugs can not bit you.
And do not make a shelter by a lake or river because it might over flow and it can drown you.
